Phosphene: A luminous impression produced through excitation of the retina by some cause other than the impingement upon it of rays of light, as when the eyeballs are pressed through closed lids. After-image.
These images were created by hand painting blank 35mm slides. A Polaroid emulsion lift technique was used to transfer the image onto watercolor paper.
