stARTup Art Fair in San Francisco was a big success! Over the course of the 3-day event, my exhibition partner, Christine Rasmussen and I talked to almost 1,000 people, gave out hundreds of cards and sold several of our paintings. Check out the video and event photo slideshow below to get an idea of our exhibition and the before-and-after.
Silicon Valley Open Studios was great too. Here are a couple of shots from the two weekends I participated.
This is the season for art events and after 3 weekends of major art events I am pretty exhausted. But alas I am not done yet. This Sunday May 21st I will be at the Children’s Discovery Museum of San Jose from 11am-4pm for a meet the artist event. I will be teaching children 4 and up about encaustic, using earth friendly materials and how to make artwork that looks like mine. Drop in anytime, it’s a free style art making event. Note that we don’t actually use hot wax, there will be other materials that emulate the wax.
Then I am off to Quebec to be an expedition leader for an artist residency all about insects. I am really excited to go back to Canada and the Ayatana Artists’ Research Program. I will be there for a little over a week and plan on sharing my daily experiences on this blog and my social media – mainly on Instagram.
