For the past few years I have been honored to be one of the artists chosen to create a very large 6ft x 5ft 400lb public art heart sculpture for the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation. Creating these hearts has been a really amazing experience. I thought I would share a little about each one of them with you.Read More
I am thrilled to be able to share my finished 2016 Hearts in San Francisco Project large heart sculpture for San Francisco General Hospital Foundation. The title of the heart is "A Wish Your Heart Makes" it was inspired by the wonder and whimsy associated with dandelions and a personal family tradition of “wish hunting.” When I was younger finding wishes was always encouraged by my Mother. We would make wishes and even collect them and store them in old jars for gifting or later use. This is a magical tradition that I have passed along to my own daughter.
It is so wonderful to be teaming up with the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation again to create a large heart. This will be my second heart, the first one I created in 2014. This year I was one of only four artists chosen to create a large heart for 2016. You can read all about the foundation and the wonderful events they are having in conjunction with the 2016 Hearts in San Francisco Project here.
